Spirit & Whimsy is our shared labor of love.
Spirit & Whimsy began as a leap of faith - a creative offering made in the margins of congregational life, rooted in a deep desire to support Unitarian Universalist educators and communities. From the beginning, this work was grounded in UU values and shaped by real, lived ministry: summer camp curriculm, imaginative resources, and art created with care for the people doing the work on the ground.
Over time, it became clear that this project was asking for more - more attention, more intention, and more room to grow. When Jenn felt called to step away from congregational staff work and focus fully on resource development, Spirit & Whimsy entered a new chapter. Jersey came alongside her, ready to build something deeper, wider, and more sustainable together.
Today, Spirit & Whimsy is becoming what it has always been reaching toward: a place of nourishment, imagination, and rest for those doing the hard, hopeful work of loving the world. With space to breathe and dream more fully, we’re investing our energy in creating UU-rooted resources and restorative spaces that support justice-centered, joy-filled ministry and care.

Spirit & Whimsy is still a home for curriculum, art, and creative tools for Unitarian Universalist religious professionals and lay leaders alike. We're no longer creating drop-ship items and will be focusing on digital downloads and (hopefully soon) workshops and webinars.
And if you've had experience purchasing digital items from us in the past, you'll be thrilled to know that here on this new site, all digital downloads are available automatically after purchase. (Seriously exciting - our old site really struggled with this!)
Recess is a monthly, virtual gathering rooted in rest, creativity, connection, and sacred silliness. It’s where Spirit & Whimsy moves from offering tools to offering presence.
Gatherings are open to all Unitarian Universalist religious professionals, lay leaders, and UU-adjacent community organizers; basically everyone doing the hard holy work of spreading love and defying hate. You can learn more about Recess by using the link in the navigation menu.
We're hoping to eventually create more spaces akin to Recess in the future - cause how can you go wrong with more space for sacred silliness?
100% free to join, the S&W Community is a place to connect with folks you've met during Recess, learn more about our resources, and lean into community care. It's not a replacement for mainstream social media, but it's also not run by an algorithm for the benefit of lofty shareholders... so that's pretty cool. Bonus: it's a great way to chat with Jenn and Jersey about resources you hope to see in the future, troubles you might be having with current products, or your favorite ice-cream flavors. The point is that it's an optional opportunity for further connection - no pressure, no stress.
